Mobility 22G

The Mobility 22G antenna is the five-in-one member of Peplink’s Mobility range: 2×2 MIMO cellular, 2×2 MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi, and a high-gain LNA GPS receiver, all sealed in one IP68 dome. It’s the antenna to choose when you need to put Wi-Fi coverage outside the vehicle or enclosure as well as get the router online.

When the Mobility 22G antenna is the right choice

The deciding question is whether Wi-Fi belongs in the dome. If your access point is mounted inside a vehicle, a cabinet or a cabin, its signal has to fight through metal and glass to reach anyone outside. Terminating two Wi-Fi chains in a roof-mounted 22G puts the radiating element where the users are — on the deck, in the yard, around the vehicle — without adding a second enclosure or a second penetration.

If you don’t need that, the Mobility 20G gives you the same 2×2 cellular and GPS for less. If your router has a 4×4 MIMO modem, step up to the Mobility 40G, or the Mobility 42G for four cellular chains and Wi-Fi.

Choosing your Mobility 22G antenna configuration

• Connector — SMA male or QMA male on the cellular and GPS leads; Wi-Fi leads are RP-SMA male on both versions. Match the 22G to your router: most Peplink desktop and mobile units take SMA, while several embedded and MBX-class units use QMA.
• Cable length — 1 ft / 0.3 m when the router sits directly beneath the dome, 6.5 ft / 2 m for a normal cabin or cabinet run. Use the shortest run that reaches; coax loss is signal you never get back.
• Colour — black or white, to match a vehicle roof or a white fibreglass deck.

A note on the part number

This antenna was previously sold as the PUMA-221. Peplink renamed the PUMA range to Mobility, so you may still see PUMA-221-S-W-6 on older paperwork and ANT-MB-22G-S-W-6 on current stock — same product, running change. Peplink explains the rename in this forum FAQ.

What to pair it with

Any single-modem Peplink router where you also want external Wi-Fi coverage — vehicle installs, marine arches, and fixed outdoor enclosures are the usual homes for a 22G. If you’re running a 4×4 MIMO unit such as the MAX BR1 Pro 5G, go to the 40G or 42G instead so you aren’t leaving two cellular chains unterminated. The full range is in our antenna catalogue.
