Mobility 42G

The Mobility 42G antenna puts seven elements under one low-profile dome: 4×4 MIMO cellular for 5G and LTE, 2×2 MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi, and an active GPS receiver. For a vehicle roof, a vessel, or any outdoor install, that means one hole, one gasket, one mount — instead of seven whip antennas, seven penetrations and seven chances for a leak.

Why one Mobility 42G antenna beats seven whips

Separate antennas are cheaper on paper and more expensive in practice. Every additional penetration is another seal to fail, another cable run to dress, and another element whose spacing you have to get right to avoid killing your MIMO performance. Peplink has already solved that spacing inside the housing, so a single dome gives you full 4×4 cellular diversity, Wi-Fi coverage and GPS positioning from one part number and one install.

The 600–6000 MHz range covers every band a US carrier currently uses, from 600 MHz low-band through mid-band 5G, so the Mobility 42G antenna will not be the thing that limits you when carriers refarm spectrum. The IP68 housing is rated for permanent outdoor mounting — roof racks, vessel arches, trailer skins, pole mounts.

Choosing your Mobility 42G antenna configuration

Three choices, and each one matters:

• Connector — SMA male or QMA male on the cellular and GPS leads. Match the Mobility 42G to your router: most Peplink desktop and mobile routers take SMA, while several embedded and MBX-class units use QMA. Wi-Fi leads are RP-SMA male on both versions.
• Cable length — 1 ft / 0.3 m for a router mounted directly under the antenna, 6.5 ft / 2 m for a typical cabin or cabinet run, 16 ft / 4.8 m when the router lives in a rack well away from the 42G dome on the roof. Use the shortest run that reaches; every extra foot of coax is signal you don’t get back.
• Colour — black or white, so the dome disappears into a vehicle roof or a white fibreglass deck.
